Golf Courses
(20 minute drive from the Penthouse) La Manga Club has three championship
18 hole golf courses, being the South Course, the North Course and the
West Course.
The South Course has slope ratings of 125 and 128 and a par of 72 and
is known as the Championship Course.
The North Course is equally challenging with several difficult par 3s.
It has slope ratings of 121 and 131 and a par of 71.
The West Course takes you over the hills and through the trees and has
a slope ratings of 129 and 130 and a par of 73
The three courses offering different challenges to golfers and there is
also a driving range. There are many other facilities on offer in La Manga
Club for the non-golfer companions.

(50 minute drive from the Penthouse) Torre Pacheco is a municipal golf course and is located between the N332 which runs from Alicante to Cartagena and the N301 which is the road from Cartagena to Murcia. The course has 9 holes and requires precision and control from players with slope ratings of 69 and 75 and the majority of the holes are par 3. The course covers an area of some 1700 metres and is very flat. The short distance between the holes and the many hidden bunkers is where the difficulties arise. The course is designed around four lakes which make it a very pleasant environment in which to play. You are not limited to playing during the day as the course is lit up for the night time play.
The municipal golf course also has a golf school for children and adults with a variety of classes from beginners to advanced.

If you wish to travel there is a course which was built in the region in 1994 and its 18 hole course spans 6239 metres it is a little further a field for your golf but is close to the city of Murcia and was the first inland course to be built in this area. It encompasses 6 picturesque lakes with olive and pine trees creating lovely surroundings for your golf. The course has 10 difficult par 4 holes, four par 3 holes and four par 5 holes.
The course can be found by taking the ringroad around Murcia following the signs for Madrid until you reach the exit for Molina de Segura once off the ringroad you follow the signs for the urbanisations until you see signs for the golf course.

Villamartin golf course opened in 1972 making it the first 18 hole golf course in the region of Aliacante and was designed by John Puttman. It overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and has spectacular views.
The course has slope ratings of 129 for the red zone. 134 for the yellow zones and 135 for the white zones. A par of 72 is given to complete the 18 hole course which has some very difficult par 5’s and some challenging par 3 holes.
The complex has a driving range, putting greens and bunker practice areas. It is open from 8am till the light fades and for more information call 966 765170
The course is located off the A37 Cartagena – Alicante motorway exit 763 in the Villamartin urbanisation.

La Finca is anew golf course which was built in 2002 and is located off exit 743 of the A37 leading to Alicante in Los Montesin which is 3km form Algorfa. It is an 18 hole course with a river running through which interlinks the three lakes which are on the course.
It has 6,394 metres of white area, 5,737 metres of blue and 5,411 metres of red. The course is set in a picturesque valley which offers panoramic views of the mountains in all directions. The course has slope ratings for adanced players to test their skills on and hole 10 is extremely tricky as there is a large bunker hidden to the side waiting to catch players out.
There is a driving range, several putting greens, a chipping area and bunker practice zones. There are changing facilities, a restaurant, bar cafeteria and a pro golf shop.

Las Ramblas is the Spanish for riverbed and that is just where the course is located in the riverbeds of Orihuela Costa. It is an extremely challenging 18 hole course spread out over 6,300 metres and any skilled player will be forced to use every club in his or her bag. It has a unique landscape which is dotted with a variety of trees placed in well thought out positions to increase the difficulty of the course. The bunkers are well hidden and deep awaiting to catch out the lesser skilled player. The course design also incorporates 2 lakes which add a pleasing visual aspect to the course. The course has a par of 72 slope ratings of 124.
The course can be found on the main Cartagena to Alicante road next door to the Campoamor Golf Course.
There is a restaurant, a pro accessory shop and golf lessons are available at the course. Handicap certificates must be presented – max 28 for men and 36 for ladies. Booking is essential.

This course is located off the A37 at the sign for La Zenia and following the signs for San Pedro following the CV941 until you see the sign for Hotel Golf Campoamor. The course is set within a complex amougst a pine forest with spectacular mountain views all around the course. It is an 18 hole golf course and has a par of 72 and slopes ranging from 130 to 135 depending on the zone. The white run has a slope ratings of 132, the blue run has a rating of 133 and the red run a rating of 130. This course provides a reasonably challenging game with holes 5 and 9 being the most difficult.
The course also has a practice field, a putting green and pro golf shop. The complex also has football pitches, acclimatized swimming pool, Jacuzzis, gymnasiums, a luxury spa centre plus several cafeterias and restaurants.
